Old Sonoma Road and Freeway Drive in Napa, Playground
Fantástico is a playground and public art space built by
the Napa community from May 28th to June 2nd 2002.
Here’s
why Playground Fantástico is different.
- It
was designed from the input of hundreds of children in our community
who met with the internationally renowned playground architectural
firm of Leathers
& Associates, who helped facilitate the deisgn and construction
of this magical playground. Our community worked with local artists
and, for the sandbox environments, Interplay
Design located in Vacaville.
- The
Playground promotes open-ended creative play, as well as fitness.
- The
playground was built by thousands of people—children and
adults-- working side by side over the course of 6 days in the
style of an old-fashioned barn-raising.
